Candidate Support Provider Training
NBPTS offers a dynamic Candidate Support Provider (CSP) Training Program to NBCTs (and others) who are new or experienced support providers. The curriculum serves as an excellent foundation for all candidate support efforts and programs. Participants receive valuable information and answers to frequently asked questions about candidate support, such as:
- What resources and materials are available to candidates and how can they use them to make informed decisions?
- How can support providers focus candidates on what is truly important?
- What are the common misconceptions about the NBPTS assessment program?
- What policies and guidelines safeguard the certification process?
- What should candidates know about the scoring process?
- What does effective candidate support look like?
CSP Training is not offered on an individual basis at this time; however, NBPTS will be rolling out an online CSP training on an individual basis in 2010. To find out if group CSP Training is offered in your area, contact your local school district or look on your district Web site.
Host a CSP Training
If you represent a school district or institution that is interested in hosting a CSP Training, please review the NBPTS ethics policy, then complete the online form. This form is for districts and other institutions interested in hosting a CSP Training only. Individuals should contact their district directly to learn about CSP training available locally.
