Kimba is a resource for coaches and teachers as a content specialist at the Literacy Design Collaborative (LDC). She was part of the first LDC cohort in Colorado and has deepened her understanding of the LDC framework as a teacher, coach, trainer, adjunct professor, and facilitator. Kimba is the 9-12 English/Language Arts teacher and instructional coach half-time in her rural Colorado district in San Luis. She earned her B.A in English/Secondary Education from Adams State University and her M.A in single-subject English from the University of Southern California. Although she was born and raised in California, Kimba enjoys working the family ranch with her husband and daughter, riding horses, and breathing in the majesty of a rural night sky. Kimba is currently a candidate for National Board Certification.

The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards and the Literacy Design Collaborative (LDC) have teamed up to build a new course for all LDC CoreTools users to “Differentiate for All Students.” This is a natural collaboration due to the symbiotic relationship that exists between quality teaching and the LDC tools and resources.
